Lattice QCD results for the HVP contribution to the anomalous magnetic moments of leptons
35th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory, Lattice 2017, Meeting locationGrenada, Spain, 18 Jun 2017 - 24 Jun 20172017-06-182017-06-24 The European physical journal / Web of Conferences 175, 06016 (2018) [10.1051/epjconf/201817506016]
We present lattice QCD results by the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal (BMW) Collaboration for the leading-order contribution of the hadron vacuum polarization (LOHVP) to the anomalous magnetic moments of all charged leptons. Calculations are performed with u, d, s and c quarks at their physical masses, in volumes of linear extent larger than 6 fm, and at six values of the lattice spacing, allowing for controlled continuum extrapolations. Extracting the Single-Particle Gap in Carbon Nanotubes with Lattice Quantum Monte Carlo
35th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory, Lattice 2017, Meeting locationGranada, Spain, 18 Jun 2017 - 24 Jun 20172017-06-182017-06-24 The European physical journal / Web of Conferences 175, 03009 - (2018) [10.1051/epjconf/201817503009]
We show how lattice Quantum Monte Carlo simulations can be used to calculate electronic properties of carbon nanotubes in the presence of strong electron-electron correlations. We employ the path integral formalism and use methods developed within the lattice QCD community for our numerical work and compare our results to empirical data of the Anti-Ferromagnetic Mott Insulating gap in large diameter tubes..

Bethe-Salpeter wave functions of η c (1S, 2S) and ψ (1S, 2S) states: local-potential description of the charmonium system revisited
35th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory, Lattice 2017, Meeting locationGranada, Spain, 18 Jun 2017 - 24 Jun 20172017-06-182017-06-24 The European physical journal / Web of Conferences 175, 06009 - (2018) [10.1051/epjconf/201817506009]
The quark potential models with an energy-independent central potential have been successful for understanding the conventional charmonium states especially below the open charm threshold. As one might consider, however, the interquark potential is in general energy-dependent, and its tendency gets stronger in higher lying states. [...]

Search for the Charged Particle Electric Dipole Moments in Storage Rings
Proc. of Russian Particle Accelerator Conference (RuPAC'16), St. Petersburg, Russia, November 21-25, 2016
XXV Particle Accelerator Conference, RuPAC-2016, Meeting locationSt. Petersburg, Russia, 21 Nov 2016 - 25 Nov 20162016-11-212016-11-25
Geneva, Switzerland : JACoW, Russian Particle Accelerator Conference, 6 - 10 (2017) [10.18429/JACoW-RuPAC2016-MOZMH03]
The idea of searching for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of proton and deuteron using polarized beams in a storage ring was originally proposed at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), USA. Currently, the Jülich Electric Dipole moment Investigations (JEDI) collaboration develops the conceptual design of such a ring specifically for the search of the deuteron electrical dipole moment (dEDM). Investigation of Lattice for Deuteron EDM Ring
Proc. of International Computational Accelerator Physics Conference (ICAP'15)
The 12th International Computational Accelerator Physics Conference, Meeting locationShanghai, China, 12 Oct 2015 - 16 Oct 20152015-10-122015-10-16
Geneva, Switzerland : JACoW, 17 - 19 (2016) [10.18429/JACOW-ICAP2015-MODBC4]
The quasi-frozen spin (QFS) concept of a storage ring for deuteron EDM measurement is based on the fact that the anomalous magnetic moment has a small negative value. Due to this fact, the rotation of spin in two parts of ring with the magnetic and electric fields relative to the momentum can compensate each other. [...]

Simulation of Fire Propagation in Cable Tray Installations for Particle Accelerator Facility Tunnels
Proceedings from the 8th International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security
Eighth International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security, ISTSS 2018, Meeting locationBorås, Sweden, 14 Mar 2018 - 16 Mar 20182018-03-142018-03-16
Stockholm : RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB, 503 - 514 (2018)
In this paper, it is demonstrated that the simulation of fire propagation in cable tray installations, with the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), version 6.3.2, can be achieved. A material parameter set allowing to estimate the fire spread, depending on environmental conditions close to the fire seat, was generated. [...]

Strategies for Forward Modelling of Infrared Radiative Transfer on GPUs
Parallel Computing is Everywhere
Parallel Computing, ParCo2017, Meeting locationBologna, Italy, 12 Sep 2017 - 15 Sep 20172017-09-122017-09-15
Amsterdam : IOS Press, Advances in Parallel Computing, 32, 369 - 380 (2018) [10.3233/978-1-61499-843-3-369]
Satellite-based remote sensing in the mid-infrared spectral region can deliver a wealth of information on pressure, temperature, clouds and aerosols, and trace gas concentrations in the atmosphere. Interpreting the satellite measurements requires to solve an inverse modelling problem based on variational methods and a forward model evaluating the radiative transfer equations. [...]
