Abstract: State-of-the-art solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) were operated with steam generated from sodium chloride saturated solution and electrochemically characterized. The performance with steam generated from sodium chloride solution is similar to using steam generated from pure water. Furthermore, there is no additional process occurring in the SOECs by the utilization of steam from sodium chloride solution compared to steam derived from pure water.
