Talk (non-conference) (Invited) | FZJ-2023-03488 |
2023
Abstract: BornAgain is an open-source software for simulating and fitting reflectometry, off-specular scattering, and small-angle scattering with or without grazing incidence. It can be used for x-ray and neutron radiation, and also supports neutron polarization. Users can construct multilayer sample models with rough interfaces and ordered or disordered assemblies of embedded nanoparticles. Control is through a graphical user interface or through Python scripting. In this talk, I will not only present achievements, but also discuss the difficulties of such an ambitious cross-platform, cross-language software project, and present plans for future improvement and extension. Critical feedback from instrument scientists and other users will be highly welcome.
