520 | _ | _ | |a The hippocampal formation plays a crucial role in memory and learning processes, and there is strong evidence that individual hippocampal regions are differentially affected by neuropsychiatric disease. The hippocampal formation has been subject of innumerable mapping studies, which provided a rich pool of information at multiple organizational levels, including cytoarchitecture, neurochemical composition, connectivity patterns, and functional characteristics. Here, we aimed to extend this knowledge by focusing on neurotransmitter receptors in the cornu Ammonis (CA) and dentate gyrus (DG), the two main regions of the hippocampus, by analyzing two molecular modalities in parallel (RNA transcripts, receptors). The presented data derived from tissue of deceased adult donors (controls). |
