Note: Die SFB-Initiative NuMeriQS bringt Forscher aus den Gebieten der theoretischen Kern-, Teilchen- und Festkörperphysik sowie der theoretischen Chemie mit Forschern aus der Mathematik und der Informatik mit dem Ziel zusammen, mit einem interdisziplinären Ansatz unser Verständnis der Dynamik und Strukturbildung in Quantensystemen mit Hilfe von Algorithmen und unter Nutzung von Hochleistungsrechnern voran zu bringen. Die Idee ist, die in den einzelnen Feldern speziell und separat entwickelten numerischen Methoden miteinander und mit neuesten Entwicklungen in der Mathematik und Informatik zusammen zu bringen, um Fortschritt in unserem Verständnis von Quantensystemen zu ermöglichen. NuMeriQS kommt zu einer Zeit, in der die ersten Exascale Computerinstallationen den Betrieb aufnehmen und die ersten digitalen Quantencomputer entwickelt werden. Diese Technologien eröffnen die Möglichkeit für große, wenn nicht bahnbrechende Fortschritte in den an NuMeriQS beteiligten Feldern aus Physik und Chemie.
