520 | _ | _ | |a The reference AmSel system extracts americium, Am(III), from PUREX raffinate solutions. It is based on the co-extraction of Am(III), Cm(III) and Ln(III) using the TODGA extracting agent, followed by selective extraction of Am(III) using a water-soluble ligand, SO3-Ph-BTBP.In addition to published data, the coordination of Ln(III) with SO3-Ph-BTBP and its protonation was studied in detail using UV-Vis and NMR. Furthermore, the reference AmSel system was successfully tested using nominal concentrations of Am(III) and Ln(III). |
