Abstract: Macroscopic modeling and simulation are essential tools in different application areas, such as ecology, economics, medicine, engineering and sciences, to analyze and predict process parameters. In the field of electrochemistry in particular, these approaches help to understand and optimize complex systems such as batteries, fuel cells, corrosion behavior and electrochemical synthesis. Computational chemistry creates models to describe real systems and phenomena in an abstract theoretical way. These models are further used in simulations to carry out experiments and analyze the results to visualize and predict the behavior of a system.
