Main topics discussed are: online determination of spin tune and in-plane polarization, how to achieve large spin coherence times, and phase-lock feedback for synchronizing spin precession and RF devices. The R&D is primarily motivated by precision experiments on Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) of charged particles in storage rings, including feasibility studies and a first deuteron EDM measurement at COSY.
