Therefore, the history of research on ozone has also received a good deal of attention. Here a short overview of ozone research (with a focus on the stratosphere) is given, starting from the first atmospheric measurements and ending with current developments. It is valuable to study the history of ozone research, because much can be learned for current research from an understanding of how previous discoveries were made. Moreover, since the 1970s, the history of ozone research has also encompassed also the history of the human impact on the ozone layer and thus the history of policy measures taken to protect the ozone layer, notably the Montreal Protocol and its amendments and adjustments. The history of this development is particularly important because it may serve as a prototype for the development of policy measures for the protection of the Earth’s climate. 000136122 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)2045168-4$$tMeteorologische Zeitschrift$$y2009 000136122 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/136122/files/Mueller2009_meteorlz.pdf$$yOpenAccess 000136122 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/136122/files/Mueller2009_meteorlz.jpg?subformat=icon-1440$$xicon-1440$$yOpenAccess 000136122 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/136122/files/Mueller2009_meteorlz.jpg?subformat=icon-180$$xicon-180$$yOpenAccess 000136122 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/136122/files/Mueller2009_meteorlz.jpg?subformat=icon-640$$xicon-640$$yOpenAccess 000136122 909CO $$ooai:juser.fz-juelich.de:136122$$pdnbdelivery$$pVDB$$pdriver$$popen_access$$popenaire 000136122 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0510$$2StatID$$aOpenAccess 000136122 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)5008462-8$$6P:(DE-Juel1)129138$$aForschungszentrum Jülich GmbH$$b0$$kFZJ 000136122 9201_ $$0I:(DE-Juel1)VDB790$$kICG-1$$lStratosphäre$$x0 000136122 970__ $$a2128/3584 000136122 9801_ $$aFullTexts 000136122 980__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)IEK-7-20101013 000136122 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED 000136122 980__ $$aJUWEL 000136122 980__ $$aConvertedRecord 000136122 980__ $$aVDB 000136122 980__ $$ajournal 000136122 980__ $$aFullTexts 000136122 981__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)ICE-4-20101013 000136122 981__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)IEK-7-20101013
