Curriculum Vitae of T.A.J. Lenstra

After I finished high school in Belgium, I began my university years in September 1992 at the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands) to study at the faculty of Chemistry. The first year I followed a broad spectrum of lectures ranging from biochemistry to physics. After this introduction, I began to pick subjects that where more on the physical side of chemistry. In my last year I specialized in physical and colloidal chemistry at the Van't Hoff laboratory. I finished my doctoral exam February 1997. On the first of March of that same year, I started my PhD at the same lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. H.N.W. Lekkerkerker and Prof. Dr. J.K.G Dhont. This project was funded by the "Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter". After 4 years, 23 February 2001, I defended my thesis, titled 'Colloids near phase transition lines under shear' and on the first of March 2001 I started at the Forschungszentrum.
