Grünberg VITROVAC 6025 thin-film samples of different thicknesses are investigated by means of two high-frequency techniques: Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and Brillouin light scattering (BLS). FMR measurements are performed by sweeping the frequency from 50 MHz to 40 GHz. In BLS, both the Damon-Eshbach surface mode and multiple standing volume spin wave modes are detected. The combination of FMR and BLS enables us to evaluate the g-factor and the saturation magnetization Ms for film thicknesses down to 4 nm. Thickness and preparation dependent effects are found and discussed. |
