We report on a study of Resonant X-ray Magnetic Scattering (RXMS) from an [Er20|Tb5] multilayer. The study aims at a better understanding of the magnetic coupling in Rare Earth (RE) superlattices. The magnetic structure as resolved by neutron diffraction can be probed element-specific by the RXMS technique. Furthermore details of the interlayer exchange coupling can be accessed, since RXMS probes the relevant electronic states.
