Different storage phosphors and neutron converters have been tested to find an appropriate mixture for the neutron image plate with low y sensitivity. It is shown that the mixture KCl:Eu²⁺ (storage phosphor) and ⁶LiF (neutron converter) is a very attractive detector material to be used in a high y -background environment.
