abstract = {This solution book provides solutions to exercises of the
book of J.K.G. Dhont “An Introduction to Dynamics of
Colloids” as published in the Interface Science Series,
vol II, Elsevier press, 1996. As mentioned in the preface in
the book, colloid science is the domain of both chemists and
(theoretical) physicists. The first chapter in the book is
therefore aimed to provide a minimum mathematical background
for those who did not have a sufficient mathematical
training. A single chapter can of course not fully cover
this gap in the mathematical background between
experimentalists and theoreticians, and might render the
exercises still problematic for those who are not used to
work with equations. The aim of this solution book is to
bridge this gap, by providing the mathematics needed to
solve the exercises in detail. We tried to give the
solutions in a way that it is also accessible for those who
are less trained in mathematics. Every step is worked out in
detail. Some times we added remarks on the interpretation
and physical implications of results. In this solution book,
exercises are selected that are not purely concerned with
mathematics, but where rather the understanding of physics
is the aim. We hope that this exercise book will lower a
possible activation energy concerned with the mathematics
                      involved in exercises.},
