abstract = {Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) offer a high potential for
application as an auxiliary power unit (APU) for heavy goods
vehicles as well as combined heat and power (CHP) sysems.
SOFCs are estecially attractive due to their high
efficiencies and th use of different fuel types. However,
otimization in terms of long term stability and costs are
still necessary. This work characterized the degradation of
SOFCs with lanthanum strontium manganite (LSM) cathodes
under chromium influence. Galvanostatic cell tests were
carried out at 800$^{\circ}$C with operation times from 250
- 3000 h and variation of the chromium source ans current
density. The current densities of j = 0 A/cm$^{2}$, j =
0,3A/cm$^{2}$ and j = 0,5 A/cm$^{2}$ were applied. the high
temperature ferritic alloy Crofer22APU was used as a
chromium source. Variation of the chromium source was
realized by coating the Crofer22APU insert with the chromium
retention layer Mn$_{3}$O$_{4}$ and the cathode contact
