Abstract: Spin-orbit torques (SOTs) have been shown to play an important role in the current-driven domain wall motion in the presence of spatial inversion asymmetry. For the current-induced motion of skyrmions in thin ferromagnetic layers with structural inversion asymmetry we expect a similarly important effect of SOTs.
