AB  - In a modern computing environment UNIX workstations become more and more important. They provide the user with local compute power and an easy to use X window based interface. On the other hand workstation administration under UNIX is expensive and requires different skills, knowledge, and experience than users normally have.This paper presents our experience with a project to support a workstation group based on RS/6000s under AIX. It will cover functions, tools, and resources to manage workstation groups in a production environment.
