In such mixtures at room temperature, i.e., well below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), the emission of the dye is strongly quenched due to energy transfer to the polycation, pointing to supramolecular interactions between the two macromolecules. Increasing the concentration of salts weakens the interpolymer interactions, the extent of which is simultaneously monitored from the change in the relative emission intensity of the components. When the mixture is heated above its LCST, the transfer efficiency is significantly reduced, signaling a structural reorganization process, however, surprisingly only if the mixture contains salt ions. To elucidate the reasons behind such thermo- and ion-sensitive fluorescence characteristics, we investigate the effect of salts of alkali chlorides, in particular of NaCl, on the association behavior of these macromolecules before and after the polymer phase transition by a combination of UV–vis, fluorescence, and 1H NMR spectroscopy with light scattering and small-angle neutron scattering measurements 000201085 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF2-54G24$$a54G - JCNS (POF2-54G24)$$cPOF2-54G24$$fPOF II$$x0 000201085 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef, juser.fz-juelich.de 000201085 65027 $$0V:(DE-MLZ)SciArea-210$$2V:(DE-HGF)$$aSoft Condensed Matter$$x0 000201085 65017 $$0V:(DE-MLZ)GC-1602-2016$$2V:(DE-HGF)$$aPolymers, Soft Nano Particles and Proteins$$x0 000201085 693__ $$0EXP:(DE-MLZ)KWS1-20140101$$1EXP:(DE-MLZ)FRMII-20140101$$5EXP:(DE-MLZ)KWS1-20140101$$6EXP:(DE-MLZ)NL3b-20140101$$aForschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz $$eKWS-1: Small angle scattering diffractometer$$fNL3b$$x0 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aChiappisi, Leonardo$$b1 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aKölsch, Jonas D.$$b2 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aKraft, Mario$$b3 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-Juel1)130507$$aAppavou, Marie-Sousai$$b4$$ufzj 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aScherf, Ullrich$$b5 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aWagner, Manfred$$b6 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aHansen, Michael Ryan$$b7 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aGradzielski, Michael$$b8 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aLaschewsky, André$$b9 000201085 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aNeher, Dieter$$b10 000201085 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)2006039-7$$a10.1021/jp408864s$$gVol. 117, no. 46, p. 14576 - 14587$$n46$$p14576 - 14587$$tThe @journal of physical chemistry <Washington, DC> / B$$v117$$x1520-5207$$y2013 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.pdf$$yRestricted 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.gif?subformat=icon$$xicon$$yRestricted 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.jpg?subformat=icon-1440$$xicon-1440$$yRestricted 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.jpg?subformat=icon-180$$xicon-180$$yRestricted 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.jpg?subformat=icon-640$$xicon-640$$yRestricted 000201085 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/201085/files/jp408864s.pdf?subformat=pdfa$$xpdfa$$yRestricted 000201085 909CO $$ooai:juser.fz-juelich.de:201085$$pVDB$$pVDB:MLZ 000201085 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)5008462-8$$6P:(DE-Juel1)130507$$aForschungszentrum Jülich GmbH$$b4$$kFZJ 000201085 9132_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF3-600$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF3$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF$$9G:(DE-HGF)POF3-6G15$$aDE-HGF$$bProgrammorientierte Förderung$$lPOF III$$vForschungsbereich Materie$$x0 000201085 9132_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF3-623$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF3-620$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF3-600$$9G:(DE-HGF)POF3-6G4$$aDE-HGF$$bForschungsbereich Materie$$lVon Materie zu Materialien und Leben$$vFacility topic: Neutrons for Research on Condensed Matter$$x1 000201085 9131_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF2-54G24$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF2-540$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF2-500$$3G:(DE-HGF)POF2$$4G:(DE-HGF)POF$$aDE-HGF$$bStruktur der Materie$$lForschung mit Photonen, Neutronen, Ionen$$vJCNS$$x0 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0100$$2StatID$$aJCR 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0110$$2StatID$$aWoS$$bScience Citation Index 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0111$$2StatID$$aWoS$$bScience Citation Index Expanded 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0150$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bWeb of Science Core Collection 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0199$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bThomson Reuters Master Journal List 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0200$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bSCOPUS 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0300$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bMedline 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0310$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bNCBI Molecular Biology Database 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1150$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bCurrent Contents - Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences 000201085 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)9900$$2StatID$$aIF < 5 000201085 9201_ $$0I:(DE-Juel1)JCNS-FRM-II-20110218$$kJCNS (München) ; Jülich Centre for Neutron Science JCNS (München) ; JCNS-FRM-II$$lJCNS-FRM-II$$x0 000201085 9201_ $$0I:(DE-Juel1)JCNS-1-20110106$$kNeutronenstreuung ; JCNS-1$$lNeutronenstreuung $$x1 000201085 980__ $$ajournal 000201085 980__ $$aVDB 000201085 980__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)JCNS-FRM-II-20110218 000201085 980__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)JCNS-1-20110106 000201085 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED
