We study ballistic transport in metal-benzene complexes contacted by 3d transition-metal wires. We show that a gigantic AMR can arise from spin-orbit coupling effects in the leads, drastically enhanced by orbital-symmetry filtering properties of the molecules. We further discuss how this molecular anisotropic magnetoresistance (MAMR) can be tuned by the proper choice of materials and their electronic properties.}, cin = {IAS-1 / PGI-1 / JARA-FIT}, ddc = {530}, cid = {I:(DE-Juel1)IAS-1-20090406 / I:(DE-Juel1)PGI-1-20110106 / $I:(DE-82)080009_20140620$}, pnm = {142 - Controlling Spin-Based Phenomena (POF3-142)}, pid = {G:(DE-HGF)POF3-142}, typ = {PUB:(DE-HGF)16}, UT = {WOS:000366500200001}, doi = {10.1103/PhysRevB.92.220411}, url = {https://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/279919}, }
