AB - Higher nitrogen oxides (NO$_{2}$, NO$_{3}$, N$_{2}$O$_{5}$) play a key-role in the lower atmosphere. At first hand nitrogen dioxide (NO$_{2}$) is conductive to the build-up of tropospheric ozone (O$_{3}$). On the other hand, the nitrate-radical (NO$_{3}$) controls the nighttime pollutant degradation by oxidating volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can be removed from the atmosphere subsequently. To analyze nitrogen oxides, there are different measurement techniques. The so called cavity-ringdown-spectroscopy is an optical technique developed by Anthony O'Keefe and David A. G. Deacon in 1988. This work covers the development, the build-up, the characterization and first applications of two cavity-ringdown-instruments for simultaneous measurement of NO$_{2}$, NO and O$_{3}$ and accordingly NO$_{3}$ and N$_{2}$O$_{5}$. The characterization of the NO$_{2}$-instrument contains accuracy and precision as well as an internal comparison of the different instrument-channels and an external comparison with a chemiluminescence-instrument during first applications at SAPHIR simulation chamber at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. The NO$_{3}$-CRDS-instrument is tested for possible instrument-losses beside the determination of accuracy and precision. Furthermore the instrument was applyed at SAPHIR chamber during a measurement campaign to rate the chamber-losses for NO$_{3}$ and N$_{2}$O$_{5}$ via kinetic approach. In addition the degradation of chosen VOCs (isoprene, $\beta$-pinene and limonene) by reaction with NO$_{3}$ was analyzed. By kinetic approach the rate-constant of these reactions were determined.
