Experimental results obtained at 12 sampling sites situated on northern and western radioactive fallout tails 4 to 53 km distant from Chernobyl nuclear power plant (NPP) are presented. Concentrations of irradiated uranium in the upper 0-10cm soil layers at the investigated sampling sites varied from 2.1 x 10(-9) g/g to 2.0 x 10(-6) /g depending mainly on the distance from Chernobyl NPP. A slight variation of the degree of burn-up of spent reactor uranium was revealed by analyzing U-235/U-238 U and U-236/U-211 isotope ratios and the average value amounted to 9.4 +/- 0.3 MWd/(kg, U).}, keywords = {J (WoSType)}, cin = {ZCH}, ddc = {540}, cid = {I:(DE-Juel1)ZCH-20090406}, pnm = {Nukleare Sicherheitsforschung}, pid = {G:(DE-Juel1)FUEK249}, shelfmark = {Chemistry, Inorganic $\&$ Nuclear / Nuclear Science $\&$ Technology}, typ = {PUB:(DE-HGF)16}, UT = {WOS:000234479900008}, doi = {10.1524/ract.2005.93.12.781}, url = {https://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/49535}, }
