Using a ferromagnetic layer with a steplike thickness, we obtain a 0-pi junction, with equal lengths and critical currents of 0 and pi parts. The ground state of our 330 mu m (1.3 lambda(J)) long junction corresponds to a spontaneous vortex of supercurrent pinned at the 0-pi step and carrying similar to $6.7\%$ of the magnetic flux quantum Phi(0). The dependence of the critical current on the applied magnetic field shows a clear minimum in the vicinity of zero field.}, keywords = {J (WoSType)}, cin = {IFF-IEM / CNI / JARA-FIT}, ddc = {550}, cid = {I:(DE-Juel1)VDB321 / I:(DE-Juel1)VDB381 / $I:(DE-82)080009_20140620$}, pnm = {Grundlagen für zukünftige Informationstechnologien}, pid = {G:(DE-Juel1)FUEK412}, shelfmark = {Physics, Multidisciplinary}, typ = {PUB:(DE-HGF)16}, UT = {WOS:000242888700054}, doi = {10.1103/PhysRevLett.97.247001}, url = {https://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/54855}, }
