520 _ _ |a 3D Polarized Light Imaging (3D-PLI) is a tool to study the brain's fiber architecture. The fiber architecture of the non-human primate brain is comparable to that of the human brain. Due to its smaller size and less complex folding patterns, the monkey brain facilitates establishment of the necessary methods and workflows, which can be applied to brains of other species. We here describe the approach to reconstructing the spatial fiber architecture in a brain of a juvenile male vervet monkey (age: 2.4 y) by means of 3D-PLI [1] at microscopic resolution, reconstructing single nerve fibers.
