Abstract: The satellite workshop "Breaking the Walls: Complementary of X-Ray and Neutron Scattering" took place after the 25th annual meeting of the DGK 2017 in Karlsruhe and was organized by the work group "Neutron Scattering" (speaker Martin Meven) of the german society of crystallographers (DGK) in order to show the complementary of physical properties of neutron and synchrotron/X-ray radiation and their application to crystallographic studies related to hot topics in physics, chemistry, biology and material sciences. This talk gives an overview of different methods, techniques and applications of neutron scattering for structure analysis together with an overview of typical large scale facilities.
