Descriptions that allow a separation of conditions are shown to entail the basic mathematical framework of quantum theory. The Stern-Gerlach and the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen-Bohm experiment with three, respectively nine possible outcomes are used to illustrate how the separation of conditions can be used to construct their quantum theoretical descriptions. It is shown that the mathematical structure of separated descriptions implies that, under certain restrictions, the time evolution of the data can be described by the von Neumann/Schrödinger equation. 000860820 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF3-511$$a511 - Computational Science and Mathematical Methods (POF3-511)$$cPOF3-511$$fPOF III$$x0 000860820 536__ $$0G:(DE-Juel1)PHD-NO-GRANT-20170405$$aPhD no Grant - Doktorand ohne besondere Förderung (PHD-NO-GRANT-20170405)$$cPHD-NO-GRANT-20170405$$x1 000860820 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef 000860820 7001_ $$0P:(DE-HGF)0$$aKatsnelson, Mikhail I.$$b1 000860820 7001_ $$0P:(DE-Juel1)167542$$aWillsch, Dennis$$b2$$ufzj 000860820 7001_ $$0P:(DE-Juel1)138295$$aMichielsen, Kristel$$b3$$eCorresponding author$$ufzj 000860820 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)1461336-0$$a10.1016/j.aop.2019.01.012$$gp.
