Often the level of heterogeneity of pedestrians in laboratory experiments does not correspond with the level in the field. New studies have been carried out to examine one factor of heterogeneity by considering people with physical, mental, and age-related disabilities. In these studies a novel hybrid tracking system consisting of a camera system and inertial measurement units (IMUs) was used for the first time. The use of IMUs solves the critical issue of occlusion caused by the perspective view of the camera system and different body heights expected for participating wheelchair users in dense crowds. The IMUs act as an extension of the camera system to enable a complete data extraction of the participants’ trajectories and gathering of additional movement data. This paper focuses on the hybrid tracking system and proposes a tracking procedure for wheelchair users participating in these studies. 000866598 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF3-511$$a511 - Computational Science and Mathematical Methods (POF3-511)$$cPOF3-511$$fPOF III$$x0 000866598 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef Book 000866598 7001_ $$0P:(DE-Juel1)132064$$aBoltes, Maik$$b1 000866598 7001_ $$0P:(DE-Juel1)132266$$aSeyfried, Armin$$b2 000866598 773__ $$a10.1007/978-3-030-11440-4_23 000866598 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/866598/files/SchumannJ.pdf$$yOpenAccess$$zStatID:(DE-HGF)0510 000866598 8564_ $$uhttps://juser.fz-juelich.de/record/866598/files/SchumannJ.pdf?subformat=pdfa$$xpdfa$$yOpenAccess$$zStatID:(DE-HGF)0510 000866598 909CO $$ooai:juser.fz-juelich.de:866598$$pdnbdelivery$$pdriver$$pVDB$$popen_access$$popenaire 000866598 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)5008462-8$$6P:(DE-Juel1)142414$$aForschungszentrum Jülich$$b0$$kFZJ 000866598 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)5008462-8$$6P:(DE-Juel1)132064$$aForschungszentrum Jülich$$b1$$kFZJ 000866598 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)5008462-8$$6P:(DE-Juel1)132266$$aForschungszentrum Jülich$$b2$$kFZJ 000866598 9131_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF3-511$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF3-510$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF3-500$$3G:(DE-HGF)POF3$$4G:(DE-HGF)POF$$aDE-HGF$$bKey Technologies$$lSupercomputing & Big Data$$vComputational Science and Mathematical Methods$$x0 000866598 9141_ $$y2019 000866598 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0510$$2StatID$$aOpenAccess 000866598 920__ $$lyes 000866598 9201_ $$0I:(DE-Juel1)IAS-7-20180321$$kIAS-7$$lZivile Sicherheitsforschung$$x0 000866598 980__ $$acontrib 000866598 980__ $$aVDB 000866598 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED 000866598 980__ $$acontb 000866598 980__ $$aI:(DE-Juel1)IAS-7-20180321 000866598 9801_ $$aFullTexts
