abstract = {Disorganised speech is a key symptom of schizophrenia. Yet,
the relevance of this symptom is far less in the focus of
scientific studies than the other key symptoms (delusion,
hallucinations). Neither has the relevance of
speech-language therapy (SLT) been recognised for patients
suffering from schizophrenia. This paper gives a brief
overview of the literature, attempting to identify the locus
of the disorder in the brain and in the cognitive-linguistic
system. As a conclusion, a much more active role of SLT is
advocated in clinic and in research for the investigation
and treatment of speech and language disorders in
schizophrenia.},
