520 _ _ |a Bidirectional flow happens not only on horizontal planes, but also on stairs. So far, bidirectional horizontal movements have been investigated through various field studies and controlled experiments, but such movements on stairs are rarely paid attention to, especially those based on trajectories. In this paper we investigate bidirectional flow on stairs at different flow ratios ranging from 0.1 to 0.9. Preliminary results such as lane formation, crossing time and fundamental diagrams in three movement scenarios are presented, and the characteristics of the descending and ascending pedestrians are compared. Our results can be applied for the validation and calibration of simulation models on stairs.
