abstract = {This dataset contains two 6x6x6 mm 3 volumes sampled from
the occipital cortex (areas V1 and V2) of a human postmortem
brain. The volumes were acquired by rescanning the original
histological sections of the BigBrain model at an isotropic
resolution of 1µm. The sections were linearly 3D
reconstructed by aligning matched pairs of bisected cells,
which were identified from congruent point constellations.
Subsequently, both reconstructed stacks were anchored into
the 20µm 3D BigBrain space using a 3D affine
transformation. Each reconstructed volume is provided as a
multipage (Big)Tiff file at multiple resolutions (1-32µm)
which can be interpreted by most biomedical image viewers.
Additionally, the volumes can be explored interactively
online, superimposed on the BigBrain model, using the links
provided. Direct integration with the EBRAINS atlas viewer
is in progress.},
