abstract = {Quantum annealing is a new computer technology that
gradually becomes ready totackle small real-world
applications. In this talk, I will give an overview ofrecent
applications that we studied on the currently largest
quantum annealers, the 5000+ qubit quantum annealer Advantage
and its 2000+ qubit predecessorD-Wave 2000Q. The
applications contain (1) vegetable garden optimization,
(2)exact cover problems for airline scheduling, (3) the
traveling salesmanproblem, (4) hard 2SAT problems, (5)
quantum support vector machines forapplications in
computational biology and remote sensing, and (6)
quantumBoltzmann machines with applications in quantitative
finance. All problemsserve as benchmarks to measure progress
but also limitations of the currentgeneration of quantum
computers.},
