Abstract: After years of planning, the contract for the installation of the first Exascale system in Europe was signed at the end of 2023. The machine will consist of two modules, a Booster (using nearly 24 000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs to reach 1 EFLOP/s HPL performance) and a Cluster (deploying the European SiPearl Rhea Arm CPU with HBM). JUPITER is procured by EuroHPC JU together with Germany (BMBF/MKW-NRW) and hosted at Jülich Supercomputing Centre of Forschungszentrum Jülich, where the preparation work as already started.3 The talk will present the system design with the defining features, insights from the procurement process, and first results from preparation.
