Abstract: We present current progress in the simulation of magnetic pulses on ion trap quantum devices.Magnetic pulses, optimized with quantum optimal control (QOC), enable the selective addressation and investigation of interfaces in magnetic resonance experiments by exploiting local changes in the magnetic field.Since QOC algorithms require full simulations of the relevant quantum dynamics, the method is still inapplicable for complex coupled systems, such as e.g. Nafion.By using quantum devices, we hope to extend the QOC method beyond what is classically feasible.
