Abstract: This comprehensive, hands-on training document is intended as a practical guide for new users of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) systems. Its primary objective is to onboard as many participants as possible and enable them to get started quickly with JSC systems. It provides step-by-step instructions on essential topics for newcomers, such as account creation, system access, Unix shell fundamentals, navigating the file system, managing software modules and submitting jobs. Concrete examples and code snippets facilitate rapid skill acquisition and system proficiency, reducing the learning curve and accelerating the transition to productive research computing for new JSC users.
