Abstract: This paper presents a Laguerre-based model predictive control (MPC) framework for real-time Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) operation in distribution networks. The proposed method integrates electric vehicles (EVs), V2G charging stations, and driver interactions to enable effective V2G operations like voltage regulation. Using Laguerre functions, the computational complexity of the MPC is significantly reduced without compromising performance. Test cases are carried out to validate the proposed control algorithm. Results indicate that the Laguerre-based MPC ensures low computational burden and real-time control capability, especially with a high number of V2G EVs and multiple constraints.
