Abstract: With JUPITER, the first European exascale supercomputer will enter production soon. The system, achieving exascale through about 24 000 Grace-Hopper CPU/GPU superchips, is the result of a long process, in which scientific applications took a prominent role during the design. The talk will present the JUPITER system design, the current status, and how a set of applications within the JUPITER Benchmark Suite were used to procure the machine. In addition, first experiences from JUREAP, the JUPITER Research and Early Access Program, will be presented.
