Abstract: The dataset includes measurements of far-red solar-induced fluorescence (SIF) for three crop species: Vicia faba (bean), Triticum aestivum (wheat), and Zea mays (maize), recorded at both the leaf level (SIF_leaf) and the top of the canopy (SIF_TOC). It also features direct calculations of the SIF escape fraction (f_esc), derived by comparing leaf and canopy SIF measurements. In addition, the dataset contains data on leaf area index (LAI), leaf chlorophyll content (LCC), and a range of reflectance-based indices often used for scaling and normalizing far-red SIF. These indices include the near-infrared reflectance of vegetation (NIRv), the fluorescence correction vegetation index (FCVI), and two hyperspectral versions of NIRv, namely NIRvH1 and NIRvH2. The dataset further offers estimates of the leaf-to-canopy SIF escape fraction inferred from these indices (i_fesc), along with values for the fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation by green vegetation (fAPAR_green) and chlorophyll (fAPAR_chl). Lastly, it provides details on the phenological stage of the crops at the time of data collection.
