Abstract: The eLTER-Budyko dataset contains the Budyko framework for 442 European Long-Term Ecosystem, Critical Zone, and Socio-Ecological Research (eLTER) sites. A zipped archive that is performed site-wise—contains: A Budyko plot (PNG format) An Excel file with three sheets (inSitu, ERA5, GLEAM) containing hydrometeorological data (Precipitation, Evapotranspiration, Potential Evapotranspiration, Aridity Index, evaporative index, and Climate Regions) A JSON file with the same Budyko data The Budyko plots were constructed from reanalysis and in situ measurements when available with GLEAM and ERA5-Land data. These datasets facilitate the comparison of sources and the examination of hydroclimatic regimes at eLTER sites. The data are well-suited for hydrological and ecological investigations, the evaluation of models, and the investigation of climate and vegetation impacts in the Budyko framework. A single ZIP file called “all_stations” is also available. It consists of one Excel file and one JSON file, summarizing the long-term averages of the same parameters among all the sites (not yearly).
