Abstract: Cover: The large atmospheric simulation chamber SAPHIR (Simulation of Atmospheric PHotochemistry In a large Reaction chamber), located in Forschungszentrum Juelich,Germany. This chamber is one of the largest atmospheric chambers in the world (270 m3). Equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentations, this chamber is a powerful tool forthe quantitative experimental investigation of tropospheric chemistry such as photochemistry, aerosol formation and its climate-related properties under natural conditionsand for the evaluation of photochemical models. The ultimate goal is to understand the atmospheric processes and their impacts on environment and climate. The picture showsthe inside of the chamber, where two scientists are working, also which indicates the size of the chamber. Image courtesy of R.-U. Limbach and H.-P. Dorn.
