Abstract: This paper describes a highly integrated catalytic burner for auxiliary power units based on PEM-fuel cells. The generated heat is used by an integrated heat-exchanger system. The feasibility is verified by fluid-dynamic calculations. An innovative approach to develop complex reactors for demanding requirements defined by the application is presented.
