Abstract: TOAR is a science effort initiated by IGAC, and developed by an international team of experts. It's mission is toprovide the research community with an up-to-date scientific assessment of tropospheric ozone’s global distributionand trends from the surface to the tropopause. Specifically, TOAR has produced the first tropospheric ozoneassessment report based on all available surface observations, the peer-reviewed literature and new analyses, andit has generated easily accessible, documented data on ozone exposure and dose metrics at thousands ofmeasurement sites around the world, freely accessible for research on the global-scale impact of ozone on climate, human health and crop/ecosystem productivity. The assessment report has been published in the open accessjournal Elementa - Science of the Anthropocene, and the articles have been rapidly picked up by the scientificcommunity. Surface observations from over 10,000 stations globally are stored in a relational database, which canbe queried through a web interface (https://join.fz-juelich.de) or via REST services. TOAR was initially conceived asan IGAC Activity that would partner with CCMI to achieve common goals. This workshop is an ideal opportunity tosurvey CCMI participants for their ideas on collaborative research, and to understand their data needs, which can bemet with the continual improvements to the TOAR database.
