Abstract: The presentation looks at the topic of managing publication charges from two different angles. The first part takes a tour through the institutional workflow of Forschungszentrum Juelich’s Central Library, demonstrating the details of handling APCs, transformative agreements, page and color charges, and more, using both the institutional repository and the ERM system for administration and monitoring. The second part takes a broader perspective in showing community efforts to standardize the reporting of cost metadata and to enable open interoperability, thus helping to establish transparent monitoring systems. The Open Access Monitor Germany offers a tool for analyzing such data on institutional and national level.
