Abstract: This dataset contains cytoarchitectonic delineations of the distinct subdivisions (amygdalopiriform transition area (APir), amygdalohippocampal transition area, dorsal (AHid) and ventral part (AHiv), ventral cortical nucleus, dorsal (VCod), and ventral part (VCov)) of the superficial amygdaloid group (SF amygdala) in individual sections of the BigBrain. Delineations of the subdivisions were result of the cytoarchitectonic analysis of the SF amygdala in coronal histological sections at 1-micron resolution of the BigBrain dataset. They have been transformed to the sections of the 3D reconstructed BigBrain space using the transformations, which were provided by Claude Lepage (McGill).
