Mapping neurophysiological and molecular profiles of heterogeneity and homogeneity in schizophrenia-bipolar disorder
Science advances 11(46), eadz0389 () [10.1126/sciadv.adz0389]
The heterogeneity of psychotic disorders leads to instability in subjectively defined diagnoses. This study used a machine learning framework termed common orthogonal basis extraction (COBE) to decompose electroencephalography-based functional connectivity (FC) in patients with psychotic bipolar disorder (PBD), schizophrenia (SCZ), and schizoaffective disorder (SAD) into individualized and shared subspaces. [...]

Itinerant versus localized magnetism in spin-gapped metallic half-Heusler compounds: Stoner criterion and magnetic interactions
Physical review / B 112(18), 184420 () [10.1103/f4wj-12gt]
Spin-gapped metals have recently emerged as promising candidates for spintronic and nanoelectronic applications, enabling functionalities such as sub-60 mV/dec switching, negative differential resistance, and nonlocal spin-valve effects in field-effect transistors. Realizing these functionalities, however, requires a deeper understanding of their magnetic behavior, which is governed by a subtle interplay between localized and itinerant magnetism. [...]
