Abstract: In small-angle scattering experiments with slit-height geometry one measures an intensity distribution due to a scattering function distorted by a correctable slit-breadth effect and the effect of slit-height. We discuss the infiuence of a finite range of measured intensity on retrievable information for two limiting types of scattering functions. The relationship in scattering function, slit-height function and range of intensity distribution can be used for optimizing measurements and also in the designof apparatus.
