Abstract: This study is devoted to a theoretical analysis of the most important parameters having an influence on the trace element emissions fror coal-fired power plants. To this end, the flue gas section in a coal-fired power plant is subdivided into the components combustion/boiler, electrostatic precipitator and flue gas desulphurization. These cornponents are then analysed by different models. Besides the retaining of trace elements in ash or slag, especially their accumulation an fly ash particles and the irnpact on control technologies are analysed. Furthermore, the purification of Boiler heating surfaces leas been rnodelled and computations for the element arsenic haue been performed.
