Abstract: Pulsed measurements at a compact critical facility with low absorption reflector are described. By a number of such measurements at different points of the system a proper value for the reactivity can be determined, which allows a meaningful comparison with values calculated by static computer codes in spite of the presence of kinetic distortion in the system. A modified area ratio method is developed and applied to the measurements; furthermore a method is shown, which allows to suppress in this systems the kinetic distortion in the fundamental mode by application of special detectors.
